Multi Watch Winders
Three rotors and up, for collections that have outgrown a drawer. This is where a winder stops being an accessory and becomes furniture.
In genuine black walnut veneer: the Kingsley (4 slots, £279.90) and the Ravenscourt (6 slots, £379.90). In premium PU leather: the Harcourt 4-Slot (£329.90) and the Harcourt 6-Slot (£419.90), and the low, wide Marlow (£289.90) in black or lacquered green. With a touchscreen and a remote: the Belgrave in three, four, six and nine slots, £429.90 to £989.90.
One thing to do before you order: measure the shelf. A six-watch cabinet stands nearly 39cm tall and weighs over 6kg — closer to a small case than to a box; the nine-slot Belgrave ships in a 51cm box.
The three things people worry about
“Will it keep me up at night?”
The motor sits in the base or behind the rotor, and every programme turns for one or two minutes, then rests for several minutes. We are measuring ours with a meter at one metre and will publish the figure rather than write “silent”. If it is louder than you expected, the 30-day return covers that too.
“The motor will die after a year.”
The failure people describe on every forum, at every price. It is why the walnut and Harcourt pages name their motor, a Japanese Mabuchi A+ with copper windings and overheat protection and why every other page tells you how its motor rests. If anything is wrong when it arrives, we repair, replace or refund, and we pay the postage.
“Will it magnetise or overwind my watch?”
The motor sits in the base or behind the rotor, the watch rests on the cushion, and the field does not reach the movement. Overwinding is not possible: an automatic’s mainspring slips once fully tensioned. The long answer is here.
