Description
Six automatics behind a full-height glass door, each rotor set to its own turns per day and direction from a touch panel on the front or the remote in your hand. The Belgrave is the cabinet for a collection that is on show: gloss black lacquer, a carbon-effect panel behind the rotors, LED lighting inside, a lock and a door sensor, and no dials to reach for behind the glass.
- Capacity: Six watches
- Boxed size: 46.5 x 30 x 43 cm, about 9 kg
- Movement: Japanese motor, 9 turns a minute
- Turns per day: 650, 750, 850, 1,000 or 1,950 for each rotor, set on the panel. One minute of turning, then a rest; runs 12 hours, rests 12 hours, and starts again by itself the next day
- Direction: Clockwise, anticlockwise or alternating, for each rotor
- Controls: Touch panel on the front with a display: choose a rotor by its number, set its turns per day and direction, switch the LED, read the clock. A remote control does the same from the armchair
- Door: Full-height glass door with a lock and a door sensor: open it and the rotors stop, close it and they carry on. Each holder comes back to the 12 o'clock position when it rests
- Lighting: LED lighting inside the cabinet, on and off from the panel or the remote
- Finish: Gloss black lacquered cabinet, carbon-effect backing panel inside (a textured finish, not carbon fibre), chrome rotor rings, fabric-lined interior
- Power: Mains adapter included (100-240 V in, 5 V 1 A out). Unplug it when the winder is not in use
- Compatibility: The vast majority of automatic watches; email us the reference if yours is unusually large or has a short strap

Motor and settings
A Japanese motor turning at 9 turns a minute. Each rotor is chosen by its number on the touch panel or the remote and set to 650, 750, 850, 1,000 or 1,950 turns a day, clockwise, anticlockwise or alternating; it turns for a minute, rests, runs 12 hours and rests 12 hours. A door sensor stops the rotors when the glass is open. The cushions fit the vast majority of automatic watches.

The three things people worry about
Answered the way we would answer them by email.
“Will it keep me up at night?”
The motor turns for a minute at a time and rests between cycles, and the cabinet rests twelve hours a day, so most of the night it is not turning at all. We are measuring ours with a meter at one metre and will publish the figure rather than write “silent”. If it is louder than you expected on your bedside table, the 30-day return covers that too.
“The motor will die after a year.”
That is the failure people describe on every forum, at every price. It is why each of our pages says what drives the rotors and how they are set. If anything is wrong when it arrives, we repair, replace or refund, and we pay the postage.
“Will it magnetise or overwind my watch?”
Every electric motor has magnets; what matters is distance. Ours sits in the base or behind the rotor, the watch rests on the cushion, and the field does not reach the movement. Overwinding is not possible: an automatic’s mainspring slips once fully tensioned. The long answer is here.

Noise is being measured on our own samples, with a meter, at one metre. The figure will be published here when it is in. Until then we describe the rest cycle rather than guess at a number.
The right setting for your watch
Each rotor is set on the touch panel to 650, 750, 850, 1,000 or 1,950 turns a day, clockwise, anticlockwise or alternating. Start from the lowest figure that keeps your watch running. If your movement is not in the table, email us the reference and we reply with the setting.
| Movement | Turns per day | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| Rolex 3135 / 3235 | 650 | Alternating |
| Omega 8500 / 8800 | 800 | Alternating |
| Tudor MT56xx | 650 | Alternating |
| Seiko 4R36 / 6R35 / NH35 | 650 to 800 | Alternating |
| ETA 2824-2 / Sellita SW200 | 650 | Alternating |
| Miyota 8215 / 821A | 650 | Clockwise only |
Starting points published by the movement makers; your watch’s own manual wins if it says otherwise.
Everything people ask before they buy
Will it fit my watch?
The cushions adapt to almost any case size or strap length, so it fits the vast majority of automatic watches without adjustment. For an unusually large case or a short strap, email us the reference before you order and we will check.
How do I set it up?
Plug in the mains adapter, place each watch on its cushion and slide the cushion into the rotor. On the touch panel, pick the rotor by its number, set its turns per day (start at 650 unless your watch's maker says otherwise) and its direction (alternating suits almost every movement), or do the same from the remote. That is all: the cabinet runs its cycle, rests between winds, and starts again by itself the next day.
How many turns per day does my watch need?
Most automatic movements need between 650 and 800 turns a day; a few ask for more. The table on this page gives the usual starting points for Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Seiko, ETA and Sellita calibres, and each rotor can be set to 650, 750, 850, 1,000 or 1,950. If your movement is not listed, email us the reference and we reply with the setting.
Will it damage or magnetise my watch?
No. Every electric motor contains magnets; what matters is distance. The motor sits behind the rotor, the watch rests on the cushion in front of it, and the field does not reach the movement. Overwinding is not possible either: an automatic's mainspring is designed to slip once it is fully tensioned.
Is it quiet enough for a bedroom?
The motor turns for a minute at a time and rests between cycles, and the cabinet rests twelve hours a day, so most of the night it is not turning at all. We are measuring ours with a meter at one metre and will publish the figure rather than write “silent”. If it is louder than you expected on your bedside table, the 30-day return covers that too.
Does it need mains power?
Yes, and it is in the box: a mains adapter (100-240 V in, 5 V 1 A out). Unplug it when the cabinet is not in use.
Is it in stock, and how fast does it ship?
Yes. Orders are dispatched within 48 hours on business days and delivered in 5 to 8 business days, tracked to your door, anywhere in the United Kingdom.
How much is delivery, and is there anything to pay on arrival?
Delivery is free across the UK. The price you see includes UK VAT and there is nothing to pay to the courier. Full delivery policy.
What if I change my mind?
Send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, for any reason. Email us, we send a prepaid label, and the refund reaches your original payment method within 14 days of our receiving the item. This sits on top of your legal 14-day right to cancel. Full returns policy.
What if it arrives damaged or stops working?
Email hello@stillwood.uk with your order number and a photo or a short video. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a faulty winder is repaired, replaced or refunded at our cost, and we pay the return postage.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Email us your order number and we keep the invoice out of the parcel. The 30-day return window runs from delivery, so a gift that misses can come back.
Do you deliver outside the United Kingdom?
Not at the moment. We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only, and every price is in pounds sterling.
How can I pay?
By card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay or PayPal, on Shopify's secure checkout. See our payment page.
