Cookies

What a cookie is here.

A cookie is a small file the site asks your browser to keep. We use them for three things only: to make the shop work, to understand how the site is used, and — if you agree — to measure advertising.

Essential cookies.

These keep your basket from emptying between pages, carry you through checkout, and protect the site against fraud and abuse. They cannot be switched off, because without them there is no working shop. They are set by our shop platform, Shopify. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations these are exempt from consent, because you asked for the service they provide.

Analytics cookies.

These tell us which pages are read, which are ignored, and where people give up. We use them to fix the site, not to build a profile of you. They are only set if you accept them.

Marketing cookies.

These measure whether an advert led to a visit or an order. They are only set if you accept them, and declining them changes nothing about what you can buy or what you pay.

Saying no, and changing your mind.

The banner on your first visit lets you accept or decline the non-essential ones. Declining does not stop you shopping. You can change your answer at any time from the cookie link in the footer, and your browser settings let you delete cookies already stored.

How long they last.

Essential cookies expire when your session ends or shortly after. Analytics and marketing cookies last up to thirteen months, after which you are asked again.

What we do with personal data, who receives it and what rights you have is set out in our Privacy policy. If anything here is unclear, email hello@stillwood.uk and a person will answer.
